Job summary

Syensqo is seeking an ambitious college student studying Engineering to gain hands-on experience at our manufacturing facility in Piedmont, SC. This full-time summer period role provides technical exposure and day-to-day engineering support, reporting to various technical or operational managers and receiving mentorship from experienced Process and Project engineers.

The role emphasizes practical problem solving, continuous improvement, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical or Chemical Engineering student.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited/ certified Engineering School.
  • Must have completed at least one year of college.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in MS Office and ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Reliable and conscientious individual that is self-motivated/driven.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities related to development projects.
  • Participate in problem solving and process improvement teams.
  • Lead execution of improvement projects including writing management of change, updating documentation, training employees, and developing digital applications.
  • Follow safety rules and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain HS&E standards and proactively assess hazards.
  • Utilize management of change and Manufacturing Excellence tools.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and complete necessary reports.

We are looking for:

Opportunity for an ambitious college student studying Engineering to gain hands onexperience. The position will also provide technical expertise and day-to-dayengineering support to the manufacturing facility. This will include: interaction with theoperations, quality, warehouse and maintenance employees. Full-time (typically days) during summer period. Can report to various technical or operational managers and be mentored by experienced Process and Project engineers.

  • The student will work with staff engineers to provide technical support for day-to-day support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities related to their development projects.
  • The student will participate in problem solving and process improvement teams.
  • The student will lead the execution of improvement projects including writing management of change, updating associated documentation, training employees, and developing digital applications.
  • Follow safety rules and conform to PPE requirements.

  • Always perform your job in a sound HS&E manner to protect yourself and those around you.
  • Risk assessment is a mind set, where you are always assessing hazards and thinking about means to avoid those hazards. Take a proactive approach to maintain excellence in all your assignments.
  • Utilize management of change for applicable situations.
  • Be aware of your state of mind (rushing, frustration, fatigue & complacency) that leads to distractions from the task on hand. Those distractions lead to errors resulting in unwanted incidents.
  • Use all the available tools for your benefits: HS&E training, Safe Observations,
  • Risk Assessment, Incident Reporting, and Manufacturing Excellence tools.
  • Job completion means Good Housekeeping, filling necessary reports, and watching for your safety and those around you.
  • Your Personal Protective Equipment is the most important tool you have as a professional chemical industry worker. Maintain and clean it properly.
  • Participation leads to ownership. Get involved as often as you can.

You will bring:
