Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Production Engineer to provide mechanical support across design, production, and legacy product development. The role centers on administering Empower PLM, supporting 3D printed parts, and aiding mechanical design and packaging.

The candidate will work with engineers and manufacturing teams, design parts using SolidWorks and Altium, and manage ECOs and CAPA processes to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 2–4 years of relevant experience or 1 year with a Master's.
• Mechanical engineering background with 3D printers/gasket fitting equipment is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Office suite.
• Experience administering a PLM database (Empower/Omnify) and writing ECOs for components.
• Support CAPA processes and collaborate with design and production teams.
• SolidWorks/Altium/PDM experience is beneficial.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Act as Empower PLM Engineering database administrator and manage mechanical source files.
• Write and review ECOs for new/replacement components and assemblies.
• Evaluate defective components and analyze failure reports for risk mitigation.
• Maintain 3D printers and gasket fitting equipment for production needs.
• Assist design engineers to prototype and maintain parts using SolidWorks and Altium.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
