Job summary

BAYSTAR in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Production Engineer to oversee operation of Bay 1, Bay 2 or Bay 3 at Bayport Polymers. You will act as a technical resource for operations personnel, applying engineering skills to optimize plant operations and drive yield improvement and cost-saving projects.

Responsibilities include supporting data collection, coordinating with operations managers, ensuring product specifications are met, and developing safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required or equivalent.
• 0-3 years of engineering experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Technical competence and process knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Understanding and learning how equipment associated to the campaign operates.
• Understanding and working with plant utilities.
• Providing data and chemical engineering support for specific product campaigns.
• Working with Technical & Quality personnel to optimize operations and meet plant goals.
• Ensuring all product specifications are met.
• Overseeing processes to ensure safety and quality.
• Diagnosing problems and providing recommendations and training.
• Drawing up production schedules and budgets for projects.
• Investigating problems and root causes to drive solutions.
