Job summary

Reporting to the Machine Superintendent, the role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field and 1–3 years in paper manufacturing, with strong problem solving and proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science or other engineering discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience in paper manufacturing.
  • Problem solving/technical skills; proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Actively support and promote safe work practices through the mill.
  • Provide support for process improvement projects, including chemicals, mechanical improvements, trials, and new technologies.
  • Support KPI management, update operator rounds, and audit operations for out-of-range process variables.
  • Review daily production and quality data; analyze production and operations issues.
  • Implement manufacturing processes, troubleshoot processes and equipment, collect data and analyze it.
  • Manage trials and identify process improvements.
  • Assist with outage planning and operational scheduling.
  • Analyze weekly and monthly process trends.
  • Provide weekend coverage on a rotation basis.
