Job summary

CAC I International Inc. in Belgrade, MT, is seeking a Production Engineer to drive the introduction, production, and continuous improvement of EO/IR imaging systems.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to develop robust manufacturing processes, improve quality and throughput, and apply Lean Six Sigma methods on the production floor. This role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, collaboration, and implementing tooling, fixtures, and work instructions to support NPI and production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience with ERP/PLM/MES systems and CAD tooling for production.
• Strong problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and documentation practices.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Product Management to support NPI and product manufacturing.
• Support process improvements and equipment upgrades to increase production efficiency and consistency.
• Track and report KPIs such as first pass yield, cycle time, uptime, and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing work instructions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective/preventive actions for manufacturing and test-related issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
• Identify and implement manufacturing process improvements to increase throughput, reduce cost, improve yield, and enhance product quality.
• Ensure compliance with ESD ANSI 20.20 and internal QMS standards.
• Collaborate with Product, R&D, and Manufacturing to align designs with production capability and forecasts.
• Participate in ECO/ECR processes and Material Review Boards to support engineering changes.
• Design, build, and implement production tooling and fixtures as needed.
• Provide hands-on support for prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting electro‑optical assemblies.
