Four Ways Consulting is seeking a Production Engineer II to support mission-critical Java applications running on AWS. The role blends production support, SRE, observability, incident management, automation, and performance optimization to ensure highly available enterprise services.

The candidate will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise applications in AWS, collaborating with development, DevOps, cloud, and operations teams to improve reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 4–5 years in Production Support/SRE/DevOps/Applications Support.
• Strong hands-on Java experience with enterprise apps.
• Experience with AWS cloud platforms/services.
• Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting and data validation.
• Experience with AWS CloudWatch monitoring.
• Experience using Dynatrace observability.
• Knowledge of application monitoring and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience in production environments and incident management processes.
• Strong analytical and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 production support for enterprise Java applications.
• Monitor application performance, system health, and infrastructure stability.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents.
• Participate in incident management, escalation handling, and service restoration.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive solutions.
• Monitor AWS and observability platforms for cloud environments.
• Analyze logs, metrics, traces, and behavior to identify issues.
• Support deployments, releases, and production changes.
• Collaborate with development to improve reliability and maintainability.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and monitoring activities.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and availability.
• Support CI/CD processes and deployment pipelines.
• Maintain runbooks and troubleshooting guides.
