Responsibilities
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for existing heavy manufacturing lines, implement engineering changes and enhancements, and modify tooling and fixtures.
- Perform and manage validations on critical testing equipment and processes, supporting the creation of test protocols in collaboration with quality control, engineering, and project management.
- Prepare production-friendly and accessible work instructions, continuously optimizing processes to meet or exceed quality and time parameters.
- Improve manufacturing instructions, production flow, assembly methods, facility layout, product quality, and safety adherence for current and new platforms.
- Support prototype and pilot production at SLC for new projects, engineering changes, and enhancements, coordinating with production, logistics, and engineering teams.
- Coordinate with site leadership, facilities, outside service providers, and subject-matter experts to ensure process equipment reliability and performance for subsequent assembly, testing, and inspection stages.
- Work with engineering and design teams to ensure developmental changes are manufacturable and to resolve manufacturing issues for future platforms. Develop sustainable processes for new platform roll-outs.
- Complete accurate and timely manufacturing documentation, including procedures, material records, validations, test reports, and work instructions.
- Support company goals, policies, and procedures, with a long-term focus on facility expansion, team development, and core competency enhancement.
- Lead efforts toward lean manufacturing principles, reducing and eliminating waste.
- Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
- 1-3 years of experience in production engineering or related fields.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Team management skills.
- Proficiency in Catia/SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools.
- Project management experience is a plus.
