Job summary

Phoenix Tailings is seeking a hands-on Production Engineer to join our production team. The role is ideal for a recent graduate eager to work on the production floor, optimize processes, and scale sustainable rare earth metal manufacturing.

The engineer will be embedded in daily operations, performing checks, collecting data, and supporting process improvements while ensuring safety and operational excellence on the floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in operating and understanding industrial equipment.
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and quickly adapt to new systems and processes.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic production setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor advanced production equipment used in clean metals processing
• Perform in-process checks and adjustments to ensure consistent product quality
• Collect, analyze, and report production data to support process improvements
• Perform basic mechanical and operational troubleshooting on production systems
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and uptime
• Conduct equipment startups, shutdowns, and transitions between production runs
• Work closely with shift leads and operators to ensure operational excellence
• Support new process development and implementation on the floor
• Uphold and enforce safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safe operations
