Job summary

Phoenix Tailings is seeking a hands-on Production Engineer to join our production team on the floor at our Exeter facility. You will help optimize processes, monitor equipment, and tackle real-world challenges as we scale our clean metals production.

The role is ideal for recent graduates with a mechanical or manufacturing engineering background who are eager to learn, collaborate cross-functionally, and promote safety and efficiency on the production line.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with operating industrial equipment.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to new systems, and work on the production floor.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor advanced production equipment used in clean metals processing.
  • Perform in-process checks and adjustments to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Collect, analyze, and report production data to support process improvements.
  • Perform basic mechanical and operational troubleshooting on production systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and uptime.
  • Conduct equipment startups, shutdowns, and transitions between production runs.
  • Work closely with shift leads and operators to ensure operational excellence.
  • Support new process development and implementation on the floor.
  • Uphold and enforce safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safe operations.

Who We Are Looking For

Phoenix Tailings is looking for a hands-on, driven Production Engineer early in their career to join our production team. This role is ideal for recent graduates passionate about manufacturing, eager to work directly on the production floor, and excited to help scale clean critical metal production. This engineer will be embedded in the daily operations of our rare earth metal refining facility, working to optimize processes, solve real-world problems, and help shape the future of sustainable manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor advanced production equipment used in clean metals processing

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic production setting
