Job summary

Alloy Steel International is a Western Australia-based manufacturer of wear products and services, part of the Lincoln Electric family. The role focuses on organizing the manufacturing workflow, drafting critical wear liners, and creating engineering drawings.

You will work with engineers to ensure efficient, compliant production in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 2+ years drafting experience, strong AutoCAD/Inventor skills, and an eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree preferable but not essential.
• Minimum of 2 years drafting experience with an Engineering consultancy.
• Excellent communication with Engineers & other drafting staff.

Responsibilities

• Organize and oversee the manufacturing process within a small team.
• Prepare DXF files of wear liners and steel templates; create drawings.
• Prepare nest and cutting plans for CNC plasma; check job travelers.
• Support production with technical queries and generate concept/engineering drawings.
• Quality assurance and compliance in manufacturing processes.

Job Responsibilities

The ideal candidate is responsible for organizing, overseeing the manufacturing process and ensuring usage of the resources is cost-effective. The successful applicant will work within a small team, working with engineering discipline.

• Attending all production meetings to stay abreast of situations in the manufacturing environment.
• Setting up the priorities for the production jobs within the team
• Prepare job traveler in the ERP system for jobs and repeat projects
• Prepare DXF files of wear liners and steel template
• Prepare nest and cutting plans for CNC plasma
• Checking the job travelers
• Assist production personnel with technical queries
• Create drawings for the wear liners
• Create concept or engineering drawing

Long Description

• Prepare NDT, TRF , NCR
• Obtaining quotes and raising internal/external PO’s for material requirements
• QA/QC of the items coming back from the subcontractor
• Actively participate in all team meetings by demonstrating initiative, high levels of enthusiasm and supportive team-oriented culture. Embrace and promote a culture of organizational teamwork and communication.

Relationship Management:

• Actively and professionally represent the organization to industry suppliers with a key focus on developing strong sustainable relationship.

• Excellent communication with ability to work well with Engineers & other drafting staff.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst undertaking several tasks concurrently.
• Sound Knowledge of Engineering in a manufacturing environment, understanding the many manufacturing processes from design to manufacturing, quality control and delivery in full.
• Knowledge of Computer technology and IT would be an advantage.
