Job description

An independent thriller feature, focusing on a group of friends uncovering dark secrets in a seemingly idyllic small town, is seeking an enthusiastic and creative entry-level Production Designer. This project blends psychological suspense with supernatural elements, requiring thoughtful and evocative set dressing and atmosphere. You'll be responsible for bringing the script's visual world to life, including sourcing props, designing and dressing practical locations, and working closely with the director and cinematography team to establish the film's tone. We're looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail, a strong understanding of visual storytelling, and a knack for maximizing impact on a modest budget. Previous experience in production design or art department, even on short films or student projects, is a plus. While we don't require specific gear, a portfolio or reel showcasing your design aesthetic is essential. We anticipate about 3-4 weeks of prep work starting late October or early November 2026, followed by a 15-day shoot. This is a paid position, offering $250/day flat, for a 10-hour day.
