Seeking an entry-level Production Designer for an upcoming independent feature film shooting in Brooklyn, NY. This is a pay-per-day position (DOE), for approximately 3-4 weeks of work, starting with prep in late November or early December 2026. Our film is a character-driven, grounded sci-fi drama with a strong focus on intimate, realistic settings, exploring themes of memory and consequence. We need someone with a keen eye for detail who can help build believable, lived-in worlds on a modest budget. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the director and cinematographer to develop the visual aesthetic, sourcing and managing props and set dressing, overseeing set construction or modification as needed, and managing a small art department budget. We're looking for someone who is resourceful, creative, and eager to contribute significantly to the visual storytelling. While this is an entry-level role, prior experience assisting on short films or student projects is a plus. Please submit a reel or portfolio showcasing your design work, even if it's from smaller projects, along with your resume. We expect 10-12 hour days during the prep and shoot period, with some flexibility for set dressing days. Meals, craft services, and production transport to/from set will be provided during shoot days.
