Job summary

Radius Recycling is seeking personnel to join the Warehouse Production team in Rancho Cordova, CA. You will help safely move and sort material, prepare loads for customers, and support store operations by pulling EV batteries and handling batteries with proper safety practices.

The role requires following policies, potential weekend/OT hours, and the ability to work at multiple locations. Experience with automotive parts or EVs is a plus, while strong safety awareness is essential.

Qualifications

  • Ability to wear PPE and follow basic safety practices.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions including safety messages and labels.
  • Ability to complete basic safety, environmental, and code of conduct training.
  • May require weekend/holiday OT and work at more than one location.
  • Experience with automotive repair or dismantling, preferred but not required.
  • Experience with electric powered vehicles, preferred but not required.
  • Experience with automotive parts and/or retail customers, preferred but not required.
  • Experience with tools and machinery, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and replace storm water control devices and review equipment.

Job description

This position will contribute to the Warehouse Production team and help ensure that goals are met safely and efficiently while conforming to all company policies. The Warehouse Production Crew will assist in managing the flow of material in and out of the facility in a safe manner to produce core & scrap products, enable the customers to pull parts, and satisfy environmental requirements. In addition, the Warehouse Production Crew will assist with recycling electric vehicles and their batteries.

Essential Functions: (This job may include any combination of the following duties)

  • Follow company policy and procedures, as to set the example for the rest of the team.
  • Receive Inventory: Properly check in new loads of material into the Warehouse Production Center.
  • Sort Inventory: Identify, sort and move inventory into their respective area based upon product type.
  • Prepare Loads for Shipment: Based upon sales demand, sort and prepare loads of material for sale to final customers.
  • Pull Electric Vehicle Batteries: Using SSI policies, pull batteries from electric vehicles in support of the store operations.
  • Miscellaneous: Assist production team as needed in a courteous manner. Prepare Gaylord boxes and pallets for shipment. Review and complete logs for regulatory and tracking purposes. Maintain and replace storm water control devices. Assist in the review and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  • Other duties as required.

Job Conditions:

  • Exposure on a regular basis to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Exposure to high voltage batteries.
  • Periodic exposure to minimal chemical hazards.

Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions:

  • Standing, walking, bending, and stretching are required regularly to perform customer care, production, and environmental/safety responsibility functions.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools and the ability to move 50 pounds are regularly required to perform routine functions.
  • Vision must be sufficient to perform job functions safely as described above.
  • Able to work on feet (stand and walk) for assigned work shift.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to wear and maintain all prescribed PPE and follow basic safety practices.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions including comprehension of basic safety messages and labels (waste oil, gasoline, flammable, etc.).
  • Ability to complete basic safety, environmental, and code of conduct training.
  • Able to work required hours which may include weekend and holidays and OT. May be asked to work at more than one location.
  • Ability to work efficiently in extreme weather conditions – rain, snow, hot sun, cold – for a full shift.
  • Experience in automotive repair or dismantling, preferred but not required.
  • Experience with electric powered vehicles, preferred but not required.
  • Experience with automotive parts and/or retail customers, preferred but not required.
  • Experience with tools and machinery, preferred but not required.
