Spectrum Aquatics is seeking a detail-oriented Production Planning & Inventory Associate to support inventory control, work-order management, material planning, and production scheduling. This role focuses on accurate data, cycle counts, BOM review, and timely reporting to keep production on track.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cycle-count sheets and variance reports.
  • Create, issue, close, and cancel work orders.
  • Review bills of material for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Purchasing to order materials.
  • Post inventory adjustments, material issues, and transfers.
  • Process material orders submitted by vendors.
  • Maintain and display the weekly production dashboard.
  • Create new part numbers from approved New Part Number forms.
  • Support Shipping with order coordination and shipping quotations.
  • Track work-order changes, bottlenecks, and schedule updates.
  • Assist with prioritizing, planning, and scheduling production activities.

Spectrum Aquatics is seeking a detail-oriented Production Planning & Inventory Associate to support inventory control, work-order management, material planning, production scheduling, and reporting.

This role is well suited for someone who works methodically, values accuracy, follows through on details, and enjoys using facts and data to solve operational problems.

Spectrum Aquatics is a Montana manufacturer specializing in the design and production of commercial aquatic equipment. Our work helps create safe, enjoyable recreation experiences for communities across the country.

The Production Planning & Inventory Associate reports to the Director of Engineering and works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, and Shipping.

What You Will Do
  • Prepare cycle-count sheets, enter count results, and generate variance reports for review.
  • Create, issue, close, and cancel custom and standard work orders.
  • Review bills of material for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Purchasing to order raw materials and drop-ship items.
  • Post inventory adjustments, material issues, and inventory transfers.
  • Process material orders submitted by vendors.
  • Work with Accounting to process and post work-order disassembly entries.
  • Maintain and display the weekly production dashboard.
  • Create new part numbers from approved New Part Number forms.
  • Partner with Purchasing and vendors to resolve material and product concerns.
  • Research inventory discrepancies, determine their causes, and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
  • Assign and maintain inventory bin locations.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Drafting and Design, and Manufacturing to confirm that production and delivery schedules can be met.
  • Communicate raw-material changes to Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering.
  • Support Shipping with order coordination and shipping quotations as needed.
  • Evaluate production workloads and provide estimates regarding lead times and workforce availability.
  • Track work-order changes, production bottlenecks, material shortages, and schedule updates.
  • Assist with prioritizing, planning, and scheduling production activities to meet manufacturing objectives.
  • Identify production issues, analyze root causes, and help develop practical solutions.
  • Recommend process improvements that increase accuracy and workflow efficiency.
  • Prepare production reports and provide regular, accurate updates to management.
  • Escalate complex or time-sensitive issues promptly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Experience supporting production planning, inventory control, manufacturing operations, purchasing, or a related function.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Ability to interpret work orders, bills of material, inventory reports, and production data.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using manufacturing, inventory, ERP, or production-planning systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard Microsoft Office applications.
