Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing, production or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, production coordination, purchasing, estimating or project management.
  • Ability to read and review engineering drawings and artwork.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing cost estimates and vendor costs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
  • Commitment to safety and workplace regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and manage purchase orders, BOMs and project schedules.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities and negotiate contracts within budget and time constraints.
  • Maintain purchasing records including costs and delivery dates.
  • Establish quality criteria for items purchased.
  • Discuss defects with vendors and internal teams to determine root causes.
  • Monitor project progress from start to finish focusing on time, quality and cost.
  • Maintain communication with clients, vendors and internal teams on project status.
  • Determine final assembly and packaging details with emphasis on quality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to complete and ship the final product.

Description

We are seeking a Production Coordinator to help bring our custom retail display and kiosk projects from concept through production and final shipment.

This role is at the center of the action, coordinating purchasing, vendors, schedules, costs, quality, assembly, and communication throughout the life of a project. You’ll work closely with internal teams, clients, and outside vendors to keep projects moving forward and ensure the finished product meets our expectations for quality, timing, and cost.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and enjoys solving problems in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Generate and manage purchase orders, BOMs and project schedules.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities and negotiate contracts within budget and time constraints.
  • Maintain purchasing records such as items or services purchased, costs, and delivery dates.
  • Establish quality expectations and criteria for evaluation of items purchased.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with vendors and internal team members to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Continuously monitor progress of projects from start to finish, focusing on time constraints, quality of products and actual cost verse estimated cost.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients, vendors and internal team members regarding the status of a project and any problem issues.
  • Determine final assembly and packaging details, with an emphasis on final quality control details.
  • Work with all internal team members throughout the lifespan of a project and facilitate the completion and shipment of the final product.

  • Be able to read and review engineering drawings, review and understand artwork and be comfortable with multiple manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with estimating in a manufacturing environment, including reviewing project specifications, materials, labor, and vendor costs to help develop and evaluate accurate project estimates.
  • Present information in an effective manner in small groups to vendors, clients and other associates.
  • Think logically, evaluate information, and make sound decisions.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to convey ideas, problems and solutions in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and problem solve when needed.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with others, delegate tasks and provide guidance in a team setting.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, production, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, production coordination, purchasing, estimating, project management, or a related field preferred.
