Job summary

3M Hartford City, IN is seeking a Converting Production Operator to join a global network of innovative colleagues. You will operate converting and coating equipment, follow written standards, and ensure safe, efficient production aligned with customer needs.

Qualified candidates have a minimum of 3 years in manufacturing, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to pass 3M testing. Additional skills in lean manufacturing and math support daily problem solving and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in any environment.
  • Must pass 3M elected testing as part of the selection process.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment that cuts and winds products according to standards.
  • Operate coating machinery within client and industry standards.
  • Demonstrate safe work behaviors to avoid injuries.
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements to better serve customers.
  • Maintain neat and orderly work area and participate in continuous improvement.

  • Operate industrial equipment that cut and wind various products, according to written standards and package orders for shipments, operate coating machinery within customer and industry standards

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
  • Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Experience with adhesives and films
  • Experience with lean manufacturing in a production environment
  • Intermediate or advanced computer knowledge
  • Experience working with slitting equipment
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong problem solving, reporting and cognitive skills
Pay & Benefits

The starting rate of pay for this position is $30.77. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
