Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Production Controller to manage the flow of direct materials, ensure material availability for the production schedule, and drive continuous improvement through lean practices.

The role emphasizes accurate ERP transactions and cross-functional collaboration to safeguard production goals. You will release production orders, manage materials, and coordinate with Operations, Quality, Planning, and Ops Engineering to optimize performance and prevent supply

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years in manufacturing or supply chain, or a HS diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with ERP systems and materials planning processes.
Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.

Responsibilities

Create and release Production Orders and Purchase Requisitions to support the master schedule.
Handle material responsibility for assembly, test, machining, and sub-contracting vendors.
Identify material shortages and coordinate corrective actions; manage obsolete or excess material.
Monitor performance against the production plan and take proactive risk mitigation actions.
Maintain ERP cleanliness through date management and exception handling.
Track schedule adherence, on-time release, and completion of work orders.
Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Planning, and engineering as needed.
