General Summary:

Under general supervision, oversees the shipping and receiving warehouse operations during the designated shift, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and product delivery to manufacturing, plus daily job assignments. Directs Team Leaders and other Team Members in the assigned manufacturing area to execute responsibilities. Manages the group as an operational unit, responsible for achieving company goals related to safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction, housekeeping, efficiency, training, teamwork, and morale.

Essential Job Functions:
General
  • Supervise team leaders and team members.
  • Plan staffing and monitor work hours, overtime, job rotation, and absenteeism.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Manage and evaluate team member performance.
  • Promote positive relations and effective communication.
  • Provide direction emphasizing safety, quality, efficiency, and morale.
  • Lead and maintain manufacturing and production systems, achieving departmental goals.
  • Utilize Toyota Production System (TPS) techniques to standardize processes and eliminate waste.
  • Develop standardized work procedures and assign work stations.
  • Oversee floor activities, ensuring effective manufacturing practices.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and production troubleshooting and improvements.
  • Lead safety initiatives, ergonomic assessments, and safety audits.
  • Train and develop team members, maintain training records.
  • Maintain documentation, reports, and communication with other departments.
Functional (Production Control)
  • Manage inventory programs, kanban system, shipments, and deliveries.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and shipment audits.
  • Coordinate receiving activities and communicate with suppliers.
  • Monitor and maintain warehouse layouts, inventory, and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing experience and 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Automotive industry experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of TPS, PEFF, and inventory systems preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, safety, and quality systems.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment with PPE requirements, moderate noise, and physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, and standing for extended periods.
