Job summary

Price Industries is seeking a Production Control Clerk to support production by expediting requests, running reports, and issuing instructions to the production line. The role reports to the Value Stream Manager and coordinates material requirements across design engineering, application engineering, customer service, IT, manufacturing, and purchasing.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; two-year technical degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel (data entry and printing options).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Internet Explorer or similar programs.
  • Ability to multitask and work constructively under pressure.
  • Clear oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer-based skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrable problem solving and analytic skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Create production schedule for the plant using ERP and Excel.
  • Determine parts requirements per order based on technical points and outputs.
  • Monitor, analyze and report performance to schedule.
  • Assist manufacturing to manage production, schedule hours and resources.
  • Research and assign manufacturing times and due dates; document during release.
  • Identify and resolve supplier/internal errors causing schedule discrepancies.
  • Improve planning and reporting processes continually.
  • Participate in project milestone meetings and new product development.
  • Develop and maintain master BOMs and work order BOMs.
  • Validate BOMs against engineering documentation for accuracy.
  • Reproduce drawings and assemble drawing packets with router and dates.
  • Stay informed of current projects, quotes, workload, and processes.

Job description

The Production Control Clerk supports production in achieving overall operational goals. Efficiently expedites requests from the account managers and runs reports and paperwork to give instructions to the production line.

This position will report to the Value Stream Manager and will be responsible for the organization and coordination of material requirements. This position works with the Design Engineering group, Application Engineering and Customer Service group, Information Technologies, Manufacturing and Purchasing.

Responsibilities
  • Function as the focal point in creating a production schedule for plant using the best combination of Manufacturing ERP system and Excel
  • Determine parts requirements per order based on technical points and ERP outputs
  • Monitors, analyzes and reports performance to schedule of production activities
  • Assist the Manufacturing department to actively manage the production, schedule work hours and resources
  • Research and assign manufacturing times and due dates on parts as needed and document during the releasing process and for special order requests
  • Identify and resolve supplier and internal errors that result in schedule discrepancies
  • Provide continual improvement of the planning and reporting processes
  • Participate in project milestone meetings and new product development as required
  • Accurately develop and maintain complex master bills-of-material, and work order bills-of-material
  • Validate BOMs to engineering documentation for accuracy on each other
  • Reproduce drawings and assemble drawing packets complete with work-order router (traveler), completion dates, and instruction for all operations
  • Stay informed of current projects, customer quotes, manufacturing workload, and manufacturing processes
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Preference for two-year technical degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in similar field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (Data Entry and Printing Options)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Internet Explorer and/or similar programs
  • Ability to work effectively in a multitasking environment and work constructively under pressure
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Exceptional computer-based skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrable problem solving and analytic skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
