Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is seeking a Production Clerk to support the collection, processing, stocking and sale of used goods. You will process raw donations from donors and prepare items for movement to the retail floor, keeping areas clean and organized.

Occasionally you may operate a cash register and assist with merchandising and store recovery operations, under the supervision of the Retail Manager or designee.

A Production Clerk will work in the collection, processing, stocking, and sale of used goods. Production Clerk’s will process raw donations from donors and prepare for movement to the retail sales floor. Production Clerk’s will also occasionally operate a cash register and perform store recovery operations.

• Hang Textile garments according to established procedures


• Keeps areas clean, including inside and outside the store.


• Sorts material as required and stocks material in stores.


• Maintains textile category, sizing and quality of goods on the retail sales floor.


• Arranges shoes, media and accessory items on the retail sales floor.


• Rotates stock in accordance with defined guidelines


• Recovers product on sales floor to ensure established merchandising guidelines


• Prepares material for transportation.


• Performs other duties as assigned,

Reports To : Retail Manager or designee.

Positions Supervised : None .

Requirements :

• Basic math skills and ability to make changes.


• Ability to perform material handling with few restrictions, works with minimal supervision.


• Ability to pick up, handle, inspect and sort varieties of textile and houseware items.


• Ability to lift/carry 30 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.


• Ability bend, stoop, kneel or crouch occasionally.


• Must follow all safety procedures and correct safety issues, if possible.


• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
