About the Role

Our client, a major player in the petrochemical industry, is seeking an experienced Chemical Process Engineer for their facility in Richards Bay . This role is critical for the design, operation, and optimization of complex chemical processes used in the production of vital petrochemical products. You will leverage your deep understanding of chemical engineering principles to enhance process efficiency, safety, and environmental performance. Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize unit operations within petrochemical plants, such as distillation, reaction, and separation processes.
• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new process projects and modifications.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and implement robust solutions to ensure continuous and safe operation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with project engineering teams during the design, construction, and commissioning phases of new plant facilities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in process engineering, specifically within the petrochemical or refining sector.
