Job summary

Celestica, Maple Grove, MN, is seeking a Production Cell Leader 4 to guide a manufacturing cell responsible for the assembly, repair, or modification of products. You will balance personnel, resolve process issues, and move products through the line under general supervision.

The role requires four to five years of relevant experience, a high school diploma with additional coursework, and site certifications.

Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Acts as lead and problem solver, balances personnel and facilitates the movement of product(s) through designated area of responsibility.
  • Monitors the conduct, performance and contribution of cell members.
  • Performs manual assembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operation of automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products.
  • Monitors quantity and quality output and leads production or prototype team to meet group goals.
  • Compiles data and generates reports on cell performance.
  • Possesses foundation skills and appropriate technical / leadership skills.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of board assembly process and product process flow.
  • Knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications and SMT processing systems.
  • Ability to set up, operate, and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools.
  • Ability to recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and to address those problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and lead the team to high quality production within tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in the applications appropriate to the area e.g. : Word, Lotus Notes, Excel and Documentation control systems.
  • More advanced manufacturing system knowledge.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional to frequent exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
  • Duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye coordination, sitting and or standing in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.
  • Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects.
  • Duties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.
  • Above demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines

  • Four to five years of relevant experience.

Hourly Rate: $25-$31 Hourly
