Job summary

Carlex in Nashville is seeking an SCM professional to maintain the QAD ERP system, coordinate POs, forecast usage, and monitor supplier performance to meet production schedules.

The role requires 4–8 years in automotive purchasing or material planning, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong communication to resolve issues and support SOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or relevant field.
• 4-8 years of experience in Purchasing, Material Planning, SCM in a Tier 1 Automotive manufacturing environment.
• Experience using an integrated ERP system in a manufacturing environment; QAD experience preferred.
• Willingness to work beyond standard hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the QAD ERP system, including Item Master, Supplier Schedules, and EDI 830 releases.
• Identify EDI/Part/BOM issues that affect QAD MRP accuracy.
• Coordinate PO releases to meet schedules and demand.
• Track supplier on‑time delivery and expedite when needed.
• Resolve invoicing/receiving issues between suppliers and Finance.
• Forecast raw glass and vinyl usage with long lead times.
• Escalate supplier issues to SCM Commodity Managers.
• Conduct cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Participate in monthly physical inventory counts.
• Create, implement and maintain a FIFO Inventory system.
• Adjust inventory levels based on demand fluctuations while maintaining safety stock.
• Provide short and long-term forecasts to suppliers.
• Coordinate new part prototype orders to support SOP.
• Communicate professionally with suppliers during high-pressure escalation calls.
