Job description

TITLE: Baker

REPORTS TO: Bakery Manager/Lead Operator

Position Summary:

The Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) Baker ensures that cakes of the highest quality are consistently created for our guests and contributes to superior service by meeting production demands. Following strict proprietary recipes, NbC production methods, and food safety standards, the Baker performs the repeated baking process for our delicious cakes offered in a variety of flavors and sizes. The Baker embodies NbC core values and demonstrates a strong commitment to excellence and efficiency in the workplace.

Accountabilities/Duties:

  1. Follows NbC proprietary recipes and cake production methods with precision and achieves productivity goals.
  2. Effectively utilizes measuring instruments, commercial-grade mixers and ovens, and other tools to bake cakes.
  3. Accurately prepares raw ingredients and equipment for baking, places cake pans into hot oven, and monitors the baking process.
  4. Adheres to proper packaging, labeling, and storage of baked cakes, as well as product rotation standards, and maintains baking and refrigeration logs.
  5. Assists Bakery Manager in developing the cake production plan, monitors inventory of baking supplies, and notifies management when supply replenishment is required.
  6. Evaluates raw ingredients and baked cakes to ensure NbC standards are met and informs management of any quality control issues.
  7. Maintains cleanliness, sanitizes, and restocks workstation, ensuring all baking supplies are prepared for the next shift.
  8. Complies with all health and safety guidelines and NbC policies, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene.
  9. Maintains consistent work attendance and punctuality.

  • Understanding of basic units of measurement used in the U.S.
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate commercial bakery equipment and work near high heat sources.
  • Meticulous attention to measurement, timing, and working under a fast-paced schedule.
  • Ability to evaluate products and processes for standards compliance.
  • Discipline, attention to detail, and strict adherence to health and safety practices.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Education, Certifications, and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Applicants must be 18 years or older.
  • No formal education or experience required, but previous bakery or foodservice experience is a plus.

Work Availability: Must be flexible to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per business needs.
