Job summary

ITW's Food Equipment Group in Troy, Ohio seeks a material handler to move, receive and inventory materials and parts, using hand trucks and forklifts.

You will follow written and verbal instructions, support the team, and may require overtime. Must wear PPE and obtain forklift certification. Requires a high school diploma and 1–2 years in manufacturing; proficiency with MS Office and basic math; ability to read orders and process sheets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree.
• 1-2 years' experience in manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend work from written instructions including orders, prints, and process sheets.
• MS Office Application proficiency.
• Utilize math skills with added, subtracted, multiplied and divided in all units.

Job Description:

This position is based in ITW/Food Equipment Group's Troy, Ohio manufacturing facility for the Warewash Business Unit. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of operations involving material and part movement, cycle counting, receipt, identification, storage, disbursement and inventory of materials, supplies and equipment. Candidate will work from written and verbal instructions, plan work and support the organization through teamwork. May require overtime.

• Move and handle material and parts as required manually and utilizing hand truck, forklift, etc.


• Must have forklift license or be able to obtain.


• Must be able to work with internal teammates, external vendors and suppliers.


• Must wear ANSI approved steel toed safety shoes, safety glasses (ANSI) with side shields; and any other assigned PPE.


• Attendance is an essential function and working overtime as scheduled to meet customer expectations.


• Perform other related or associated duties as assigned or directed.


• Observe good housekeeping practices and follow safety and environmental procedures and practices.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

• Periods of working in hot/cold environment


• May occasionally move material up to 50 lbs.


• High frequency welding is done in area

• Periods where regularly require prolonged Standing, Sitting, Bending, Stooping throughout shift


• While performing job, will be required to use hands and arms to handle and reach for parts and materials; drive forklift and other material movement equipment


• Be able to climb stairs and is frequently required to walk

Compensation Information:

Hourly position starting at $19.36 @ hour and tops out after 6 months at $24.20
