Job summary

ITW Food Equipment Group in Troy, Ohio, is seeking a material handler for the Warewash Business Unit. The role involves moving materials, receiving, storing, and disbursing parts, following written and verbal instructions.

Job Description

This position is based in ITW/Food Equipment Group's Troy, Ohio manufacturing facility for the Warewash Business Unit. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of operations involving material and part movement, cycle counting, receipt, identification, storage, disbursement and inventory of materials, supplies and equipment. Candidate will work from written and verbal instructions, plan work and support the organization through teamwork. May require overtime.

• Move and handle material and parts as required manually and utilizing hand truck, forklift, etc.
• Must have forklift license or be able to obtain.
• Must be able to work with internal teammates, external vendors and suppliers.
• Must wear ANSI approved steel toed safety shoes, safety glasses (ANSI) with side shields; and any other assigned PPE.
• Attendance is an essential function and working overtime as scheduled to meet customer expectations.
• Perform other related or associated duties as assigned or directed.
• Observe good housekeeping practices and follow safety and environmental procedures and practices.
• Must be able to learn and become certified to drive a fork truck following all safety procedures.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree
• 1-2 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and comprehend to work from written instructions including customer orders, prints, work orders and process sheets
• MS Office Application proficiency
• Utilize math skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Interpersonal communication skills with all levels of the organization and external suppliers
• Must be able to learn and become certified to drive a fork truck following all safety procedures

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

• Manufacturing Environment
• Periods of working in hot/cold environment
• May occasionally move material up to 50 lbs.
• High frequency welding is done in area
• Areas of facility require hearing protection
• May require some climbing
• Periods where regularly require prolonged Standing, Sitting, Bending and Stooping throughout shift
• While performing job, will be required to use hands and arms to handle and reach for parts and materials; drive forklift and other material movement equipment
• Be able to climb stairs and is frequently required to walk

Compensation Information

Hourly position starting at $19.36 @ hour and tops out after 6 months at $24.20
