Job summary

Fairfield Processing Corporation is seeking a Production Associate – Sewing (Closing) to support our fiber product manufacturing on daytime, evening, and night shifts in Missouri. You will operate sewing machinery, handle materials, and participate in quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.

Candidates should have sewing experience, high school diploma, and the ability to work across shifts. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and collaboration with the production team.

Responsibilities

• Operate sewing machines and assembly equipment per work instructions and cycle times.

• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Coordinate with team to meet daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products for conformance to specs and document issues.

As a Production Associate for Fairfield Processing Corporation, you'll be an essential part of our production team, contributing to the creation of high-quality fiber products. Your role involves a combination of operating sewing machinery and performing manual tasks. Your experience in sewing and your attention to detail will be invaluable in producing top-notch products.

Schedule:

• Shift 1: Day Shift (8 hours) - Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
• Shift 2: Evening Shift (8 hours) - Monday to Friday: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• Shift 3: Night Shift (8 hours) - Sunday to Thursday: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Shift 1: Day Shift (8 hours) - Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• Shift 2: Evening Shift (8 hours) - Monday to Friday: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

Pay Range:DOE

• Operate production machinery according to standard procedures and safety protocols.
• Operate industrial sewing machines of multiple types equally proficiently to stitch together fabric or other materials according to Assembly Work Instructions, including cycle times.
• Monitor sewing machine operation to detect defects or deviations from standards and alert lead/supervisor so they can contact the maintenanceteam.
• Learn Assembly Work Instructions and Common defect guidelines provided by management and follow them.
• Report any irregularities or issues with materials or processes to leads/supervisors promptly to prevent disruptions and maintain efficiency.
• Inspecting each finished product to ensure it was made as specified in work instructions, reporting any irregularities or issues to leads/supervisors promptly to prevent disruptions and maintain efficiency.
• Handle raw materials and finished products with care, following proper lifting and handling techniques to prevent damage or injury. This may involve manually transporting materials within the production area and maintaining organized storage areas.
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining production equipment and work areas. This includes regular cleaning of machinery, work surfaces, and production areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
• Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and protocols while performing all duties in the manufacturing plant.
• Work collaboratively with other production associates and team members to achieve production goals. Communicate effectively with leads, supervisors and colleagues to coordinate workflow, address challenges, and ensure smooth operations.

Education and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successfully complete a periodic, recorded sewing assignment for time and quality of work.
• Proven experience as a sewing machine operator in a manufacturing or textile production environment.
• Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines of various types and understanding sewing techniques and terminology.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to them.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.
