Avient Corporation in Birmingham, AL is hiring an entry-level Production Associate responsible for weigh-up or packaging tasks in the production department. You’ll help ensure quality and efficiency, following Avient policies and safety rules.

The role emphasizes dependability, teamwork, and willingness to work overtime, with shifts across days and nights. Prior industrial experience is preferred, but training is provided to learn the recipe and paperwork requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent training & experience.
• Industrial operations experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals.
• Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide; must work with units (weight, volume, density, distance).

Responsibilities

• Obtain correct batch documentation and ensure ingredients meet recipe specifications.
• Set up and start weigh-up or packaging machinery; follow safety procedures.
• Notify appropriate personnel of issues in a timely manner.
• Process, batch, and package material to meet customer specifications.
• Support Production Operators with materials and functions to keep equipment running.
• Perform machine cleaning and required paperwork.
• Follow safety rules and maintain housekeeping standards.
