Job Description

Pacor, located in Bordentown, NJ, is looking to add an entry-level Machine Operator to their staff. A Machine Operator fabricates fiberglass insulation, meeting or exceeding customer specifications by utilizing sheeters, press machines, laminators, and CNC machines, along with assembly and other assigned duties.

The ideal candidate has basic computer knowledge, the ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly, and a focus on safety and quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Produce product using assigned machinery.
2. Ensure the operational status of the machine at the beginning of each shift.
3. Review production work orders to determine needed materials.
4. Verify received materials against work orders.
5. Set up equipment, making necessary adjustments, loads, and feeds.
6. Remove finished products from the machine.
7. Load finished products into shipping containers.
8. Maintain accurate counts of packed parts.
9. Ensure quality by comparing finished products with prints or templates.
10. Complete First and Last article inspections.
11. Inspect completed cartons for proper labeling.
12. If using a die press, remove dies not required for the next run, and clean and inspect the die.
13. Report any damage to the supervisor.
14. Return dies to proper storage.
15. Clean and inspect the work area and equipment.
16. Scan and record actual run times, including setup time.

Machine Maintenance:

• Clean the machine and surrounding area.
• Ensure the machine is operational; contact maintenance if issues arise.
• Make minor adjustments to meet quality standards.

Additional Duties:

• Pack finished goods using compression equipment.
• Operate oven and trash compactor if applicable.
• Participate in QP3/Lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Use and read a ruler within 1/16 inch accuracy.
• Basic math skills, including working with fractions and calculating linear/square footage.
• Use a computer to read blueprints and work orders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, with or without assistance.
• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience.

Physical Demands:

Must stand, walk, and kneel regularly. Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without equipment. Must have average manual dexterity, vision (corrected or uncorrected), and communication skills.
