Job summary

Organogenesis Inc. in Canton, MA is seeking a Production Associate I - Collagen to join our regulated manufacturing team. You will perform protein extractions, purifications, filtrations, and titrations to produce high-quality sterile collagen for internal and external customers, under supervision of a team lead.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, adherence to cGMP, and ability to work in a cleanroom and cold room conditions (2-8°C). Monday–Friday schedule with some weekends.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or A.S. in a biological science or equivalent and 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Quality Systems regulations (cGMP) knowledge and clean room experience preferred but not required.
  • Have some knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and equipment such as using pipets and balances.
  • Have physical abilities that include the ability to lift up and push/pull per the safety requirements, and have good dexterity.
  • Have the ability to work in cold room conditions (2-8°C).
  • Have the ability to closely follow procedures and a good attention to detail.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have good problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Produce collagen by performing protein extraction and purification, filtrations and dilutions, and chemical sterilizations following cGMPs.
  • Perform in-process testing including assays, titrations, and other color indicator testing.
  • Run specialized equipment including a continuous flow centrifuge.
  • Clean and assemble glassware and equipment for sterilization.
  • Complete production documentation in a timely manner.
  • Perform all tasks in compliance with company safety policies especially involving chemical safety and proper lifting techniques.
  • Provide assistance with process optimization and scale-up activities, if necessary.
  • May provide assistance to Engineering and Facilities Departments for equipment operation during calibration, validation, or repair.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory supply.
  • Write deviation reports as necessary.

What You Will Achieve:

The Production AssociateI - Collagen performs activities involved in the production of CollagenThese activities include, but are not limited to, protein purifications, filtrations, and titrations in the production of high quality, purified, sterile collagen for both internal and external customers.This position requires working in a regulated area under the direct supervision of a team leader or departmental supervisor.

The hours for this role are Monday-Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm, some weekends and holidays required.

How You Will Achieve It:
  • Responsible for producing collagen by performing protein extraction and purification, filtrations and dilutions, and chemical sterilizations following cGMPs
  • Responsible for performing in process testing including assays, titrations, and other color indicator testing
  • Responsible for running specialized equipment including a continuous flow centrifuge
  • Responsible for cleaning and assembling glassware and equipment for sterilization
  • Responsible for completing production documentation in a timely manner
  • Responsible for performing all tasks in compliance with company safety policies especially involving chemical safety and proper lifting techniques
  • Provide assistance with process optimization and scale-up activities, if necessary

Requirements
What You Need to Achieve It:

Physical Requirements:
  • A pre-employment physical and lift test is required for this role
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, for extend periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to work in cold room conditions (2-8 degrees C)
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds

The anticipated hourly rate for this role is$24.04 - $24.04 per hour and reflects current market data for similarly-sized life science companies and internal equity. Organogenesis is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based increases, eligibility for our 401(k) plan with competitive company match, medical, dental, vision, education assistance, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state and federal law. Our time-off policy includes paid vacation days, paid company holidays, and paid sick time. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education, and other factors permitted by law.
