Job summary

GE HealthCare in Salt Lake City is seeking a Production Associate responsible for manufacturing, assembly, cleaning, packaging and shipping of products on a team line. You will pass work to the next operator and follow procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include operating lift platforms and torque tools, reading instructions, maintaining daily output, and collaborating with engineers and supervisors to improve processes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or local equivalent (or 6 months of manufacturing experience).
  • Ability to communicate, receive and understand instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and quality-minded work habits.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and leadership.
  • Willing to submit to a background investigation (employment history, criminal history, education).
  • Willing to take a drug test.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willing to work at an office located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Description Summary

The production associate may have responsibilities including manufacturing, assembly, cleaning, packaging, and shipping of products. This is a team line environment where one operator passes their work to the next operator in queue.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Performs entry to mid-level manufacturing/assembly operations on production line and other various tasks following procedures, work instructions, and process aid sheets
  • Uses lift platforms, hoist, torque tools, and other power hand tools to assemble machines
  • Reads and follows work procedures or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintains daily production output
  • Cross trains and work in multiple functions for business flexibility
  • Follows all EHS and Quality policies and procedures
  • May participate in quality control inspections
  • Works with team lead, engineers, supervisors, and managers to improve quality and process efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned, and may be asked to be included in quality activities, training sessions, and employee activity teams
  • Complies with EHS regulations and policies
  • Complies with attendance policies and be willing to work voluntary overtime when needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED or local equivalent or 6 months of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to communicate, receive and understand instructions regarding duties to be performed
  • Demonstrated ability to detail and quality-minded work habits
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with co-workers and leadership
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background
  • Must be willing to take a drug test
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Salt Lake City, Utah
  • Must be able to lift (floor to waist, waist to crown level, and horizontally) Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform frequent simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation, neck rotation, and neck flexion throughout the workday
  • Must be able to twist, push/pull, reach at, above and below shoulder height frequently throughout the workday
  • Must be able to frequently stoop and bend; occasionally squat and kneel, throughout the workday
  • Must be able to stand/sit continuously throughout the day
  • Must be able to ascend/descend/balance occasionally on portable step stool
Desired Characteristics
  • High School Diploma/GED or local equivalent
  • 2 or more years of related manufacturing experience
  • Experience in medical manufacturing or other highly regulated industry preferred.
  • Local candidates will be given preference
  • Ability to competently read, write, and speak in English
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills and ability to navigate online instructions
