Job summary

Versant Media is seeking an assistant to support CNBC-style news production at their Englewood Cliffs, NJ headquarters. The role involves helping producers with story production and pre-interviews, researching background information across business and financial topics, and coordinating feeds, Zooms, and schedules.

You will also liaise with technical operations, publicity, promotions, marketing, and dotcom teams. The position includes company-sponsored benefits and a competitive hourly pay range.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of production experience.

What you’ll do:

• Find background information on a wide range of business and financial news stories, using a variety of sources such as the Internet, newspapers, and magazines.


• Coordinate production requests, feeds/Zooms, and schedules.


• Coordinate with other departments including technical operations, publicity, promotions, marketing, dotcom, and others.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $26/hour-$28/hour.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

• BA degree in journalism or business, or an equivalent degree.


• Minimum 1 year of production experience.

You’ll stand out if:

• Proficiency with content systems, especially the iNews computer system is preferred. Interest in and proficiency in social media a plus.


• Exceptional interpersonal & teamwork skills, exhibiting proven ability to work collaboratively, with individuals at all levels, and across all functional groups.


• Self-starter and be able to make quick, editorially sound decisions while remaining calm under pressure.


• Ability to multi-task, and have experience working in live television.


• Ability to work with others under tight deadlines.


• Highly organized and detail oriented.


• Strong analytical skills.


• Proactive thinker / self-starter.


• Business news knowledge a plus.
