Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Rocky Mount, VA is hiring a Production Associate to fabricate components for final window assemblies. The role involves repetitive, physically demanding work with lifting and hand/power tools, in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation includes $16.00 per hour base plus a $1.50 per hour shift differential for 3rd shift; benefits start day one and shoes voucher/reimbursement are offered. Shift is Mon-Fri with first and third shifts listed; training may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the US.
• Able to pass a background check and drug test.
• Able to carry out written or verbal instructions.
• Require ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis.
• Preferably with manufacturing experience and with experience reading a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units.
• May support window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows.
• Use hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers as needed.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
• Read work orders, labels, and schedules and follow written instructions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Associate is responsible for the fabrication and production of the component parts for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This job description is reflective of tasks that will be performed in a variety of departments.

• Training period require working Monday through Friday 6a - 6p and could last up to 6 weeks approximately
• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units
• May support the window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows
• Perform any workstation function using hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers
• Understand and carry out verbal instructions
• Read and carry out simple written instructions
• Read work orders, labels, and schedules
• Use a tape measure (will be asked to read measurements during interview), inspect, examine, and observe for product defects
• Make fraction and decimal conversions
• Operate any equipment needed to perform a job
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
