Location:

Cheshire, CT (Plant) - Filling industrial

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Cylinder Loader will be responsible for loading and unloading high-pressure and liquid cylinders onto/off trucks in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Loader will also ensure safety standards are met during the handling of cylinder gases according to Airgas procedures.

In particular, you will:

1. Inspect cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards.
2. Understand hazards of various gases; identify cylinder size and contents by reading labels and color-coding tanks.
3. Comply with all government and company standards related to the safe handling of hazardous materials and cylinder gases.
4. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
5. Load and unload cylinders on/off vehicles using hand trucks or chain hoists, recording type and quantity.
6. Ensure cylinders are strapped in securely on pallets during loading/unloading.
7. Examine returned cylinders for defects and perform minor maintenance and inspections prior to filling.
8. Move cylinders to designated areas using appropriate, safe methods.
9. Segregate out-of-test and defective cylinders.
10. Remove old labels, clean cylinders.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Are you a MATCH?

1. HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. At least one year of experience in manufacturing, filling, or loading preferred.
3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
4. Excellent customer service skills.
5. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
6. Strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to perform basic math operations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
