Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Production Associate (Cylinder Filler) in Hingham, MA for the 2nd shift. You will fill gas cylinders, conduct safety and quality checks, and ensure compliance with Airgas and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Ability to perform basic math and unit conversions.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and fill gas products into cylinders per procedures and regulations.
• Conduct safety checks, odor tests, and verify caps/valves.
• Prepare high-pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders for filling and attach to manifold.
• Evacuate cylinders to ensure quality and purity; fill by pressure and weight.
• Load/unload cylinders from pallets and trailers using forklift and pallet jack.
• Maintain accurate records compliant with DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards.
• Label cylinders correctly and ensure proper size and contents.
• Assist with labeling and other duties as assigned.

Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests, checking caps and valves. Analyzes products for purity and correct mixtures.Takes care of high-pressure, medical and liquid cylinders. Prepares high pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling. Attaches to manifold, evacuates cylinders to ensure excellent quality and purity. Fills cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards.Assists with the loading & unloading of cylinders on & off pallets and tractor trailers. Experienced in using a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.Maintains accurate records to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards. Completes quality control sheets as required.Knowledgeable of hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks. Supports accurate labeling of cylinders.Other duties as assigned.________________________Are you a MATCH?Required Qualifications:High school degree or GED required.Mechanical aptitude.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system preferred.Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position's responsibilities.A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience.
