Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) in Cheshire, CT for 2nd shift (10am-6:30pm). You will load/unload cylinders, operate a forklift, and ensure safety and accuracy in handling gases. Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of cylinders and CCS/lot details.
  • Ensure safe loading/unloading and proper securing of cylinders.

The Loader will also be responsible for meeting all safety standards in the loading and unloading of cylinder gases per Airgas procedures.* Inspects cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures that ensure government, Airgas, and distributor safety benchmarks are met.* Maintains awareness of safety protocols for various gases; identifies size and contents of cylinders by carefully reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks.* Committed to all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of materials and cylinder gases.* Confidently manages a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment to support site operations.* Carefully loads cylinders on/off vehicles, using a hand truck or chain hoist, and maintains accurate records of the type and quantity of cylinders.* Ensures the secure loading/unloading of cylinders on/off pallets, confirming they are safely strapped in.* Examines returned cylinders for surface defects, dents, cracks, or burns; takes initiative in performing minor maintenance of equipment and detailed inspection of cylinders prior to filling.* Moves cylinders to designated work areas using appropriate, safe work methods or equipment.* Identifies and segregates out-of-test or defective cylinders to maintain high quality standards.* Prepares cylinders for reuse by removing old labels and ensuring they are clean.* Contributes to other team needs as assigned to ensure a supportive work environment.## \\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_## ## Are you a MATCH?**Required Qualifications:*** High school degree or GED required.* Mechanical aptitude.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system preferred.* Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.* Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.* Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position's responsibilities.* A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience.
