Job description

Prince's Paisley Park in Chanhassen, MN, seeks a skilled and responsible Production Associate. As a member of the Production Department, this position performs a variety of production, exhibit installation, and maintenance duties including event production, sound and lighting support, stage setup, exhibit fabrication, and assisting the Collections Department with the installation of museum exhibition experiences.

Paisley Park is an active museum, state‑of‑the‑art recording studio, and concert venue. For nearly 30 years, the facility served as Prince's home, creative sanctuary, and production complex. Fulfilling Prince's vision that Paisley Park would one day be open to the public, the venue today welcomes fans, musicians, and audiophiles for tours, concerts, festivals, and special events.

Responsibilities

• Help plan, execute, and support the production of events
• Perform stage set‑ups and assist with the removal of larger artifacts in event spaces
• Set up, operate, and strike event production equipment, including audio, lighting, staging, and related technical systems
• Work alongside and assist other production companies during events
• Coordinate and assist with artist, performer, and production crew needs before, during, and after events
• Prepare, transport, set up, and maintain backline equipment, including drums, amplifiers, keyboards, risers, and other performer support equipment as required
• Assist with event load‑ins and load‑outs, ensuring equipment and materials are handled safely and efficiently
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of production equipment and report repair needs
• Read and execute stage plots, production schedules, and event setup requirements
• Support rehearsals, sound checks, and live event operations as assigned
• Collaborate with catering and event planners to make sure their operational event needs are met
• Work closely with Paisley Park staff to support event and facility needs
• Help fabricate new and previously existing exhibits and artifact displays
• Assist the Museum Collections team with the installation and movement of artifact displays and exhibition experiences
• Move, load, unload, and store supplies, furniture, and equipment as needed
• Organize off‑site warehouse space
• Perform job‑related errands, including various shop visits, supply pick‑ups, and material sourcing
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years experience with live event production, concert staging, backline equipment, or theatrical production preferred
• Knowledge of professional audio, lighting, and staging equipment
• Ability to work well with your hands
• Ability to work efficiently in repetitive work environments and follow established procedures
• Excellent attention to detail
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows software is helpful
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Ability to perform effectively under deadlines and competing priorities
• Forklift experience and/or certification is preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift at least 50‑75 lbs
• Must be comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time
• Ability to climb ladders and work safely at heights
• Ability to work in confined spaces and hard‑to‑reach areas
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment

Hours

Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Working hours include weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as required based on the event schedule. Mandatory staffing for the Celebration event falling in June.

Location: Chanhassen, MN, USA. Hourly, Full‑time. The offer is contingent upon passing a background check and a four‑panel background screen which does NOT include THC.
