Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc in Wallingford, CT is hiring a Production Associate to join our operations team. You will support manufacturing processes, operate equipment, and ensure quality products are available for customers.

This role requires shift work on the 2nd shift with on‑the‑job training on the 1st shift for 3 months, and lifting up to 50 pounds. You will work with a team to maintain safe, efficient production and assist junior operators as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the day.
• Mechanical inclination and ability to use hand tools.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Production Workers focus on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production equipment.
• Set up production equipment and supplies before executing job orders and operate equipment safely for production processing.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in good and safe working condition.
• Inspect equipment to identify replacements, malfunctions, and repairs.
• Perform regular equipment maintenance to ensure production capacity and quality; assist junior operators.
• Repair and clean equipment as needed; evaluate performance and recommend improvements.
• Operate trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer equipment between warehouse and working area; follow safety procedures.

Pay Rate: $24.75

Shift: 2nd Shift, 3:15pm-11:15pm, Monday‑Friday, Shift differential 10%. Train on 1st shift (7:00am‑3:30pm) for 3 months.

• Operate trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer the production equipment between warehouse and working area. Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation.
