Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Production Associate 2 for the 2nd shift to perform windows and doors assembly, ensuring quality and on‑time delivery. You will maintain safety protocols, manage material flow and support continuous improvement in standard work.

The role requires reading measurements, operating power tools, and working up to 50 lbs, with extended hours and weekend shifts as needed. Full‑time employment with benefits is offered.

Qualifications

About the Role

The Production Associate 2 employee at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring we safely make a quality product and minimize waste/cost, so it can be delivered on time to customers. Also, responsible for working with a sense of urgency while maintaining the flow of material throughout the plant by performing the following duties:

What You’ll Do
  • Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick and pack products
  • Support and participate in employee engagement activities
  • Follow defined clean‑up times
  • Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies
  • Must follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations
  • Participate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows for customers
  • Identify problems; communicate issues
  • Assist with training co‑workers
  • Support a respectful workplace
  • Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management
What You’ll Need
  • Ability to read a tape measure as well as read and interpret fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/visual cues
  • Operate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and knowing when to change PPE
  • Identify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards/protocols/PPE
  • Variations – having knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances
  • Follow instruction and standard work while frequently referencing standard work instructions
  • Knowledge of product defects specifically to their workstation
  • Quality recognition in station quality requirements/CTQ
  • Communicate effectively by actively listening, explain clearly & accurately, ask questions, share important info
  • Time management and aware of cycle times
  • Ability to perform math by adding numbers, subtracting, including fractions and decimals
  • Interface with a computer system by accessing, navigating, identifying download
  • Stand for 8 to 10 hours using good posture and repetitive motion
  • Problem solving using root cause analysis
  • Dependability—being on time consistently
  • Profile recognition ability to recognize shapes and compare to sample drawing
  • Monitor inventory by adhering to min‑max levels (WIP) utilization of scrap
  • Ability to wear required PPE – metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses
  • Dependability/punctuality & detail oriented
  • High school diploma is preferred
  • Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and stand is required
  • Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds, 8 to 12 hours a day is required
  • Ability to work in hot & cold environment is required
  • Be able to work extended hours and weekend based on business needs is required
  • Willing & able to work various positions in various departments (cross‑trained) is required
  • Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods is required
  • Able to comply with all company policies and procedures, including all safety regulations is required
  • Ability to follow supervisors instructions/directions as given is required
  • Possess the following skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication and initiative
  • Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionality
