Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Production Associate (Meat Wrapper) to pack meat, seal, label and stack finished product on pallets per work orders and GMP standards. Shift: 8am start, Mon–Fri, 1st shift, West Salem, WI.

Duties include assembling boxes, loading meat into the Cryovac sealer, labeling, sealing and maintaining a clean, safe work area to keep production flowing. Qualification highlights: High School Diploma/GED, ability to lift 10–35 lb continuously and up to 60–90 lb,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Lift 10–35 pounds continuously, up to 60–90 pounds.
• Willing to work in cold temperatures.
• 0–6 months meat wrapper experience or warehouse/production experience.

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule, safety checks, prepare supplies and equipment; secure equipment and complete paperwork at shift end.
• Check cutting list and obtain packaging materials (boxes, labels, tape, bags, wrap) from storage with pallet jack.
• Manually assemble boxes; make labels and fill Cryovac sealer with wrap as required.
• Load finished meat into Cryovac sealer, operate doors and place sealed meat on work table.
• Manually pack meat into cases, label and seal cases with tape gun or strapping machine and stack on pallets.
• Perform housekeeping, clean work area and equipment; uphold safety and quality regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Production Associate (Meat Wrapper) - Pack meat in boxes, seal, label and stack finished product on pallets according to work order specifications and customer preferences, as well as assemble boxes, clean packaging area and equipment ensuring all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality standards are met and to maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities

• Review work schedule, perform safety check on equipment, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations; At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Check cutting list and obtain appropriate packaging materials (boxes, labels, tape, bags, wrap) from storage with pallet jack.
• Manually assemble boxes-cases, make labels and fill Cryovac sealer with appropriate wrap as required.
• Load finished cuts of meat from tubs into Cryovac sealer, raise and lower doors as required and place sealed meat on work table.
• Manually pack meat into cases, label and seal cases with tape gun / or strapping machine and stack finished cases on pallets.
• Perform general housekeeping duties, clean packaging work area and equipment, maintain and abide safety and quality regulations and standards as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Lift Requirements: 10-35 pounds continuous and generally up to 60-90 pounds
• Temperatures: Willing to work with cold temperatures
