Job summary

Performance Foodservice in West Salem, WI is seeking a Production Associate (Meat Wrapper). Starting rate is $18 per hour and up based on experience.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 1st Shift, 8:00 am start, no weekends, work location at 1130 Industrial Ave. You will pack meat in boxes, seal and label and stack finished product on pallets, while maintaining GMP and quality standards and keeping the production line moving efficiently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lift 60-90 pounds.
• Willing to work in cold temperatures.
• 0–6 months meat wrapper or warehouse/production experience.

Responsibilities

• Review schedule and perform safety checks on equipment.
• Prepare packaging materials from storage with pallet jack.
• Assemble boxes, labels, and prepare Cryovac sealer as required.
• Load finished meat into Cryovac sealer and seal cases.
• Pack meat into cases, label and seal, then stack on pallets.
• Maintain GMP and sanitation; perform general housekeeping.

Position Summary

Production Associate (Meat Wrapper) - Pack meat in boxes, seal, label and stack finished product on pallets according to work order specifications and customer preferences, as well as assemble boxes, clean packaging area and equipment ensuring all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality standards are met and to maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities

• Review work schedule, perform safety check on equipment, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations; At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Check cutting list and obtain appropriate packaging materials (boxes, labels, tape, bags, wrap) from storage with pallet jack.
• Manually assemble boxes-cases, make labels and fill Cryovac sealer with appropriate wrap as required.
• Load finished cuts of meat from tubs into Cryovac sealer, raise and lower doors as required and place sealed meat on work table.
• Manually pack meat into cases, label and seal cases with tape gun / or strapping machine and stack finished cases on pallets.
• Perform general housekeeping duties, clean packaging work area and equipment, maintain and abide safety and quality regulations and standards as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
• Lift Requirements: 10-35 pounds continuous and generally up to 60-90 pounds
• Temperatures: Willing to work with cold temperatures
• 0-6 months meat wrapper experience or
• warehouse/production experience

Compensation

$18 per hour and up based on experience
