Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas in Waynesville, NC is hiring a Production Associate to pack thermoformed trays quickly, safely, and accurately, supporting production flow and quality standards.

We offer day or night shifts on 12-hour schedules. The role may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, repetitive duties, and working in a fast-paced team environment with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve parts from trim press.
• Place parts in specified relationship to each other.
• Inspect stacks of parts for defects.
• Pack parts into bags and boxes.
• Tend machines such as trim press and pack station equipment.
• Cut and stack sheet and grind tray as needed.
• Build and stage all packaging material per product spec.
• Fill out labels and flow bills correctly.
• Move pallets with pallet jacks in the warehouse.
• Assist the Operator when starting the line.
• Help train new employees when necessary.
• Follow safety and housekeeping policies.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
• Work overtime as required.

Position: Production Associate

Location: Waynesville

Pay Rate: $19.32/hour (+$2.00 night shift differential)

Shift: Day Shift or Night Shift Available | 12-hour shifts

Summary Description

While reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Production Associate (Inspector/Packer) is responsible for packing thermoformed trays quickly, safely, and accurately while supporting production flow and quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Retrieve parts from trim press
• Place parts in specified relationship to each other
• Inspect stacks of parts for defects
• Place parts in bags, seal bags, and place them into corrugated boxes
• Tend machines such as trim press and pack station parts‑handling equipment
• Cut and stack sheet when needed
• Grind sheet and trays as needed
• Build and/or stage all packaging material per product specification
• Fill out labels and flow bills correctly
• Use pallet jacks to place skids of product in the warehouse
• Assist the Operator when starting the line
• Help train new employees when necessary
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Follow housekeeping standards
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as requested by the Supervisor
• Work overtime as required
