Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas is seeking a Production Associate (Inspector/Packer) in Waynesville, NC. The role involves packing thermoformed trays quickly and accurately while supporting production flow and quality standards.

You will fetch parts, inspect for defects, seal bags, and box the finished product while operating the trim press and packing equipment. Prior packing is helpful; training will be provided. This is a fast-paced, safety-conscious position with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing literacy, numeracy and technical skills required for consideration.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Pack thermoformed trays quickly, safely and accurately.
• Retrieve parts from trim press and place them in proper relation to each other.
• Inspect stacks of parts for defects and seal bags before boxing.
• Operate trim press and packing station equipment as needed.
• Build and stage packaging materials per product specs.
• Train new employees and assist the line operator when starting.
• Follow safety, housekeeping, and company policies; work overtime as required.

Position: Production Associate
Location: Waynesville
Pay Rate: $19.32/hour (+$2.00 night shift differential)
Shift: Day Shift or Night Shift Available | 12-hour shifts

Summary Description

While reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Production Associate (Inspector/Packer) is responsible for packing thermoformed trays quickly, safely, and accurately while supporting production flow and quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing

• Retrieve parts from trim press
• Place parts in specified relationship to each other
• Inspect stacks of parts for defects
• Place parts in bags, seal bags, and place them into corrugated boxes
• Tend machines such as trim press and pack station parts-handling equipment
• Cut and stack sheet when needed
• Grind sheet and trays as needed
• Build and/or stage all packaging material per product specification
• Fill out labels and flow bills correctly
• Use pallet jacks to place skids of product in the warehouse
• Assist the Operator when starting the line
• Help train new employees when necessary
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Follow housekeeping standards
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as requested by the Supervisor
• Work overtime as required
