Job summary

Glacial Freeze Dry is seeking a Production Associate to support the preparation, processing, and packaging of meat-based ingredients for freeze-dried pet treats. This role emphasizes food safety, quality, and sanitation while assisting daily production and warehouse tasks.

Typical hours are 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday, with starting pay from $19 to $22 per hour depending on experience. No prior experience required, training provided, and opportunities for growth within the facility.

Job description

The Production Associate supports the preparation, handling, and processing of raw meats, organs, bones, and other ingredients used to produce freeze-dried pet treats. This position plays an important role in maintaining food safety, product quality, and sanitation standards while assisting with daily production, packaging, and facility operations.

Typical Hours: 8am-4pm; Monday-Friday

Starting Wage: $19-$22, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Production and Processing

• Prepare, grind, dice, cook, or cut various meats, organs, or other raw materials.
• Mix ingredients according to recipes or production specifications.
• Follow established procedures for freezing and preparing products for freeze-drying.
• Enter batch and lot information into production systems to ensure product accuracy and traceability.

Food Safety and Compliance

• Follow all company, FDA, and SQF guidelines for proper handling, processing, and storage of raw and finished materials.
• Adhere to HACCP temperature controls for thawing, freezing, and storing raw products.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Distribution Practices (GDPs).
• Maintain accurate records for inbound and outbound shipments, including temperature checks and trailer inspections.

Sanitation and Maintenance

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain equipment and work areas according to established procedures.
• Disassemble machinery for daily cleaning and assist with preventative maintenance as qualified.
• Maintain cleanliness in production areas, restrooms, breakrooms, and other assigned spaces.
• Complete required sanitation logs to verify cleaning standards are met.

Operational Support

• Assist with loading and unloading trucks, packaging, and shipping/receiving activities.
• Support other production team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Perform additional tasks or cross-train in related functions as needed.

Other Duties

Working Conditions

• Regular standing, bending, lifting, and walking required.
