Job description

Sign on Bonus: $500 after 1 Year and an additional bonus at 2 Years

Category/Shift: Hourly Full-Time/2nd Shift

- The plant operates 24/5

- Must be open to working both 2nd and 3rd shift

- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed; significant overtime may be needed during busy periods.

Physical Location: Plant City Box, 2402 Police Center Drive

The Job You Will Perform:

  1. Following all safety rules and procedures
  2. Assisting single-facer and double-backer operators prepare rolls for splices and order changes
  3. Assisting clean single facers when they are not in operation
  4. Performing other corrugator (wet/dry end) crew-member duties during break periods, as needed
  5. Working with other associates(s) to change corrugator flute rolls when roll changes are needed
  6. Assisting other crew members with the daily cleaning of the machine
  7. Assisting on the sheet line as needed when sheet orders are produced
  8. Assist and clear any jam ups that occur on the dry end and bring back to running status
  9. Maintain the chop out carts to an acceptable level for changeover/order change
  10. Adjust in COPAR to produce quality products
  11. Produce the right load tags for the orders that will be ran
  12. Perform quality checks per SPI’s and input them into QMS (dimensions, PINS, caliper, Soaks, moisture)
  13. Ensure all waste is disposed of for every order
  14. Pro-actively assist machine operators
  15. Clean the dry end per the weekly clean up tracker
  16. Organize and manage WIP line to maximize storage
  17. Communicate quality issues with the crew if necessary
  18. Training on and learning all corrugator crew positions to be able to perform those jobs during vacation, call-in, and/or other absence situations
  19. Maintaining a clean and organized work area – 6S
  20. Daily emptying all the waste containers in the corrugator department, including those in the supervisors’ office
  21. Receiving, unloading, and storing the corrugator raw materials in the proper areas
  22. Work effectively as a team member
  23. Keep up with the pace of the machine (order changes, outfeed lines, load tags)
  24. Have a productive shift change with incoming employees (Communication)
  25. Performing other duties as assigned by supervision

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Firsthand manufacturing/production work experience preferred
  • Corrugated industry experience preferred
  • Ability to identify quality defects and monitor the quality of production
  • The ability to work in a demanding environment with minimal supervision
  • The ability to accurately read a tape measure and use basic shop math
  • The ability to accurately perform tasks after explained and demonstrated, follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team
  • Punctuality, excellent work ethic, and a positive attitude
