Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking a Production Associate for its Rockford, IL facility. You will operate production lines, monitor equipment via HMI/PLC, and perform quality inspections in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, 1–5 years manufacturing experience, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and willingness to work up to 12-hour shifts, including weekends. The role is on-site with sign-on bonuses totaling $1,000 after 90 and 180 days.

Sign-On Bonus

• $500.00 Sign On Bonus after 90 days
• $500.00 after 180 days

Schedule

• Hours: 7:40a-8p or 7:40p-8a
• Overtime as required
• Weekends as needed

Purpose of the Job

Owens Corning is looking for Machine Operators with manufacturing background in a fast-paced production environment. We are seeking ambitious, self-driven candidates with leadership experience or who are motivated to develop into a leadership role and grow with the company.

The primary objective of this position is to understand, manage, and safely operate all aspects of the downline process.

Job Responsibilities

• Tend production lines and interact with equipment using HMI/PLC interfaces
• Safely operate a forklift
• Accurately perform board quality inspections
• Accurately measure objects using a standard tape measure, six-inch scale, and digital caliper
• Accurately enter information into multiple databases
• Operate unit wrapper and perform all associated tasks
• Operate printer equipment and bar code machine
• Learn and comply with all Owens Corning safety policies and plant rules
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area in compliance with 5S standards
• Ability to routinely lift up to 55 lbs. without assistance
• Work up to 12 hours in hot/cold manufacturing environment
• Walk/stand on concrete floor continuously for up to 12 hours
• Safeguard self with PPE including steel-toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection and long-sleeved shirt (tucked in)
• Maintain high level of attendance
• All other duties as assigned or needed

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Preferred Experience

• 1 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to do basic mathematical calculations
• Must be able to read a scale and tape measure
• Ability to accomplish tasks without direct supervision
