Overview
Assembler of school, activity, and commercial buses.
General Responsibilities
- Required to maintain quality standards, ISO standards, Safety Standards per company policy.
- Perform daily scheduled maintenance and clean up procedures in department.
- Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled per assigned department.
- Understand and carry out verbal and written directions.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those in contact on a day-to-day basis.
- Meet minimum standards of safety per assigned department.
- Meet minimum standards of 5s.
- Notify supervisor of any quality issues, maintenance, and machine failure issues, and assist as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Working Conditions and Environment
- Combination of office and shop environment.
- Exposure to elements such as dust, odors, oil, fumes, heat, cold, chemical, metal shavings, and noise.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility.
- Occasional lifting of items not exceeding 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- Must be able to read, learn, understand, and interpret drawings, blueprints, and other restrictions written or verbal to complete assembly of products or components according to established guidelines and quality standards.
- Must be flexible to learn and perform various tasks in multiple assembly stations.
- Must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Must be able to use simple/basic math, and basic hand-held measuring tools.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain within first 30 days of hire.
Preferred but not Required
- Woodworking skills
- Fabrication skills
- Automotive body and paint repair experience
- Mechanical and automotive repair experience
- Previous experience building automobiles
- Vocational or Technical training
