Description

Pacor Inc in Gastonia is looking for a Production Associate / Machine Operator to join their team. The role of the Production Associate is to help in the fabrication of insulation products for our customers. As we are a small company, the ideal candidate should be able to help in different areas as needed, such as running a machine (CNC or Press Machine), doing hand assembly, helping load and unload rolls of material, and completing quality inspections to name a few.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Produces Product by use of machine.

a. Assures operational status of machine at beginning of shift

b. Reviews production work orders to determine type and quantity of production materials needed.

c. Verifies that material received from Warehouse Associate matches material listed on work order.

d. Sets up appropriate equipment making necessary adjustments/loads/feeds material into machine.

e. Removes finished product from machine.

i. Loads finished product into appropriate shipping containers.

ii. Maintains accurate count of parts packed.

iii. Assures quality by comparison of finished product with print or template.

iv. Completes required First and Last article inspections.

f. Inspects completed cartons at end of each job run to assure they are labeled in accordance with work traveler.

g. If using a die press, removes dies not required for next job run.

i. Cleans and inspects die.

ii. Reports any damage to Supervisor.

iii. Returns die to proper location on die rack.

h. Vacuums and cleans work center thoroughly.

i. Scans in actual run time, including set-up time.

2. Maintains Machine

a. Clean up machine and area around machine

b. Ensure operational status and contact maintenance if there is a problem

c. Make minor adjustments to ensure items produced are meeting the quality standards for the order

3. Produces product by Assembly.

4. Other Duties.

a. Packs finished goods by use of compression equipment.

b. Operates oven, if applicable to location.

c. Operate trash compactor.

d. Actively participates in QP3/Lean manufacturing initiatives

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent general education degree
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions in English
• Use and read a ruler to within 1/16 of an inch
• Accurately complete basic math skills including calculating linear/square footage and work with fractions using a calculator.
• Use a computer to understand blueprints and read work orders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance, on a regular basis.
• Previous manufacturing/machine operation experience

Physical Demands: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an

employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and on occasion lift and/or move 50 pounds, with or without the use of material handling equipment. The employee must have average manual dexterity. The employee must have average vision, with or without correction. The employee must have the ability to communicate and read in English.
