Position Overview

The Production Associate – A sets up and operates all in-line drawing machines and enameling ovens in a safe and efficient manner to achieve and maintain high quality magnet wire manufacturing operations consistent with the control plan as well as with the plant and division goals. This position assists in training and development of new associates.

The Production Associate – A sets up and operates all in-line drawing machines and enameling ovens in a safe and efficient manner to achieve and maintain high quality magnet wire manufacturing operations consistent with the control plan as well as with the plant and division goals. This position assists in training and development of new associates.

Primary Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates in line drawing machines. Able to perform all aspects of die change overs and set ups and cold weld. Sets up and operates assigned enamel lines and all aspects of die setting, change overs and set ups to ensure high quality magnet wire, split, add and remove passes as required. Performs all team operations including start ups, changeovers, welds
• Resolves oven wrecks in a timely manner. Performs lot changes on rectangular products and completes all required pre-production tests on all products. Also troubleshoots and resolves production and quality issues on all lines, monitoring machine processes and making appropriate and timely adjustments
• Performs PEC checks with safety and the quality of the product as primary consideration, PEC checks include but are not limited to cleaning dies, applicators, vacuuming required areas and the alignment of applicators and fingers
• Ensures quality of the finished product by identifying problems in the enameling process and completing corrective action
• Responsible for monitoring all aspects of the payoff area to ensure a continuous supply of high-quality bare wire to the enameling lines.
• Responsible for monitoring all aspects of the take-up area to ensure all requirements are met and the reels are promptly and properly stripped and packed, including but not limited to understanding and adhering to proper package code, size and weight including minimums and maximums.
