Job summary

Carlex is seeking a production associate in a fast-paced glass manufacturing environment. You will load/unload parts, assemble components and perform changeovers while following detailed work instructions and control plans.

Responsibilities include material handling, quality checks, data entry into the quality system, and maintaining a clean 5S workspace. Candidates should be able to lift 45-50 lbs, work 12-hour shifts, and accommodate overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.

• Understand and follow work instructions and control plans.
• Operate machines along with other key tasks such as changeovers.
• Do quality checks and input data into Quality system and input GMaPS data when required.
• Maintain an organized clean work environment. 5S.
• Perform other departmental duties as directed by supervision.
• Work with PPE and know lockouts and E-stops.
• Stand in a fast-paced environment to keep the process running.
• Handle all types of glass safely.

KEY TASKS INCLUDE:

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Years of Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing preferred.

Other Requirements:

Ability to work a 12-hour shift on our 3-2-2-3 schedule and required overtime.

Ability to learn and follow procedures while working safely in a manufacturing environment.

Able to lift 45-50 lbs regularly and/or occasionally able to walk 5-10 feet while carrying a 45-50 lb. windshield.

Able to raise objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.

Assemble components on glass, involving picking, pinching and fingering objects.

Repetitive movements of wrists, hands and/or fingers

Repetitive twisting and bending of upper & lower body.

Work in extreme heat and humidity.

Regular and predictable attendance required.

Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and responsibilities.

Overtime may be required as workload or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays.

Able to stand on concrete for extended periods of time.

Some type of computer knowledge.
